Hello, I am Arwen

Hai, I am Arwen, a daughter of Noisa. To be honest I am a pedigree-cat or, as they say here,  a 'Takkenpluis', but I don't care for titles, names or background very much. My mother, Noisa, does. But I think that is exaggerated, in the end we all have to eat from the same tray and drink from the same bowl.

But okay, I do have a pedigree name: "Reine des Vents Noisa's Arwen". 'Reine des Vents' is the cattery name of this house. That is 'reine' because a cat-breed-girl is called a 'queen', in french that is 'reine'. 'Des Vents' is french for 'of the Winds'. Irene's husbands name was 'van der Winden' Dutch for 'of the Winds'. So 'reine des vents' means 'queen of the winds'. As I already said 'Noisa' is my mother's name, so I'm named after her. And Arwen is an elf-princess from 'The Lord of the Rings' by Tolkien. Because I am a super elegant cat they thought it would suit me perfectly.

Just like my Mom I am a (half-)longhair oriental cat but my colour is different. I am brown, which is called 'Havana'. Just like a cigar !!! And that while I hate smoking people !!!

Of course Iwas born. On the 16th September 1994, with my brother BrasBras. He was suppose to be born first but due to problems at birth, I came first, so now I am his 'big' sister, although he is twice my size. But BrasBras tells his own story on his own pages, so enough about him for now.

I used to be a very modest, shy girl, but after I was spayed I don't care anymore and I do as I please. They better adapt to me, now !  I am very skilled in waving my beautiful longhaired tail. Just like flourishing a flag. In Dutch that's called 'vendelzwaaien'. Around here I'm quite famous for it. It took a lot of practice but it is now almost perfect. No cat can perform like that. Of course they tried to take pictures of it but I don't allow that. As soon as I see a camera I stop. So they have only some very bad pictures on which you can't see it very well. But that is on purpose. I don't want any cat to imitate me !
Now I get all the admiration and that suits me very well.

I really would have liked to have a litter of my own. I was a very caring girl. Washing and looking after my Mom and brother. I think I would have been a wonderful mother. But the people here said that our family was already large enough and they didn't want to seperate mother and children anymore. So no litter for me, alas. But who knows perhaps we will adopt another kitten. With my people, one never knows. For the time being, I will keep looking after my old grumpy mother as well as I can.
